After the great #SaveManifest campaign of 2021, fans upset by the cancellation of the NBC drama were psyched to learn that Netflix not only saved the show, but greenlit a Manifest Season 4. After you’ve caught up on the first three full seasons of Manifest (plus the first half of Season 4; we have to wait until 2023 for Manifest Season 4 Part 2), we have a few recommendations for you. Get ready for more mysterious shows like Manifest to take flight on your watchlist.
Manifest follows the passengers of a flight that takes off, experiences turbulence, and lands — five years in the future. The passengers had been deemed missing, somehow defying all laws of space and gravity while on their seemingly simple plane ride. The show just made its Netflix debut, quickly topping the daily chart of the streamer’s most popular shows and movies. Could this mean Netflix may save the show? If not, we have a few similar shows to recommend.

'Dirty John'
Netflix just dropped a new season of Dirty John, their true-crime anthology series following bizarre stories of love gone wrong. Season 2 follows the Betty Broderick story, starring Amanda Peet as the lead role. The series sees her marriage to childhood sweetheart Dan Broderick, and unfurls a story of lies, hatred, and rage lurking beneath the seams. Even though her life looks perfect, the relationship takes a toll on Betty, pushing her to the brink.
'Sweet Tooth'
Sweet Tooth is Netflix’s latest apocalyptic series, and if you loved the fantastical elements of Manifest, you’ll probably dig this one too. The series follows a half-human, half-deer boy on a quest to find his mother. He lives in a world ten years after “The Great Crumble,” a virus that led to the mysterious emergence of hybrid babies. If the boy wants to find his mother, he’ll have to avoid the hunters on his long trek to Colorado.
'Colony'
Colony takes place in a futuristic version of L.A. where an occupation has placed the city on lockdown. Now under martial law and locked into their homes, the residents of the city have two choices: obey or fight back. But a war starts between the folks who want to live life under the occupation and those who want their old lives back, causing total chaos.
'Lost'
Lost is certainly the show that’s most akin to Manifest. A handful of strangers on a plane together must rally as one force when the plane crashes on a faraway island. Things get even more bizarre when they realize they aren’t alone on the island — not only that, they’re in grave danger. The long-running mystery drama is an absolute must-watch for any Manifest fans, surely an inspiration for the newer series.
'The Flight Attendant'
More planes! Kaley Cuoco stars in HBO Max’s The Flight Attendant, which follows a mystery involving one hotel room, one dead guy, and the boatload of drama that unfurls surrounding the event. When a flighty flight attendant sleeps with one of her passengers, she wakes up to realize he’s been murdered beside her in bed. Instead of reporting the murder, she does what anyone might: runs. Now on the run, she investigates who may have murdered her ex-lover.
'Emergence'
Emergence was another mystery drama that was canceled too soon. The series followed Jo, a police chief who takes in a young child she finds near the site of an intriguing accident. The girl has no memory of who she is, nor what happened at the accident, drawing Jo in for a dangerous conspiracy larger than she ever imagined. If she can figure out the child’s identity, she’ll crack the case wide open.
'Debris'
Another canceled NBC drama! Debris follows, well, debris. Mysterious wreckage starts falling from the sky, leading an intrigued, secretive task force to investigate the situation. They set out to figure out where it came from, why it’s raining down on Earth, and what it has the power to do. Amidst the unearthly occurrences, the team has their own personal drama they bring to the table in their race against time.
