The Resident‘s final episode of 2022 delivered a highly-anticipated kiss and a major cliffhanger. So it’s safe to say that fans need Fox’s medical drama to return STAT.

The series — which follows Conrad (Matt Czuchry), Devon (Manish Dayal), Randolph (Bruce Greenwood), AJ (Malcolm-Jamal Warner), Kit (Jane Leeves), and other medical experts at Chastain Park Memorial Hospital in Atlanta — took a short hiatus from December 13 to December 27. A rep for The Resident confirmed that the show will be back with a new episode on Tuesday, January 3, 2023. (That’s today!)

Per Fox, Season 6, Episode 11 is titled “All In,” and the description is as follows: “A famous cardiothoracic surgeon – who happens to be Dr. Yamada’s mentor – comes into Chastain after experiencing heart pain. Meanwhile, Kit breaks the news that the ER will no longer be accepting trauma patients due to budget cuts, and Devon and Conrad help treat a confused woman.”

The Resident will air in its usual time slot on Fox at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT on Tuesday, January 3.

The Resident Season 6 Finale Info

Though the series is returning in 2023, a rep for the show confirmed that The Resident’s Season 6 finale will air on Tuesday, January 10, 2023. That means fans only have two weeks of new episodes before they have to say goodbye to The Resident again. But at least the Season 6 finale is a special two-hour event, with episodes 6.12 and 6.13 airing back to back on January 10 from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. ET.
