Famed fantasy and sci-fi actor Mark Hamill paid tribute to his former Star Wars co-star Paul Grant, who died on Monday (March 20) at age 56.

Hamill and Grant both starred in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi in 1983, in which Hamill famously portrayed Luke Skywalker and Grant played an Ewok.

“My heartfelt condolences to Paul’s loved ones & fans. He had a long & varied career, but it’s always hard to say goodbye to a member of the #StarWars family,” Hamill wrote in a tweet.

He added, “He will be deeply missed.”

The 56-year-old actor was taken to the hospital after he was found collapsed outside King’s Cross Station in London last Thursday (March 16). He was pronounced dead on Monday, though the official cause of death has not yet been disclosed, The Guardian reports.

Grant built a career as a character actor and stunt performer. After starring in Return of the Jedi, he also played a goblin in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone in 2001. He was also credited as a stunt performer in Legend (1985),  Labyrinth (1986) and Willow (1988).

Actor Carl Weathers, who currently plays Greef Karga in The Mandalorian, also honored the Star Wars actor in the news of his passing.

“RIP Paul Grant. You’ll live in that ‘galaxy far, far away,'” he tweeted in response to Hamill’s post.

Grant is survived by his girlfriend Maria Dwyer, as well as his children and grandchildren.
