The View gave guest James Brolin quite the scare today when they surprised him with a huge nude photo of his son Josh Brolin. James, who stopped by to promote the latest season of Sweet Tooth, was having a lovely chat with the panel before the poor man was nearly shocked out of his seat thanks to co-host Sara Haines.
Haines asked, “Mr. Brolin, your son Josh famously followed in your footsteps and became an actor, and he’s been in everything from the Marvel movies to No Country for Old Men, but he recently posted a photo that got a lot of people’s attention because he was nude.”
James quipped, “He’s always nude!” and Haines agreed, replying, “It’s not the first time.”
She asked, “Is this a thing for him and did you have to have a talk with your young son?” as James turned around to actually see the photo, which was projected behind him. Upon seeing the giant image of his nude son, he exclaimed, “Oh my god!”
After collecting himself, James told the panel, “You raise them up and you turn them loose and good luck if they even call you, you know?”
Whoopi Goldberg chimed in to add, “Leave it to us to show the picture,” with a smile and a shake of her head. But James was all for it, insisting, “No, I like that,” before going on to compliment that day’s episode and the segments that aired before his appearance.
The au naturale photo of Josh shown on today’s episode was posted to the actor’s Instagram account April 22. In the black-and-white image, he poses in a fold-up chair while looking off-camera and wearing nothing but a hat.
He captioned the photo, in part, “Prepping for a scene for Outer Range Season 2,” referring to his Prime Video series. Josh added, “We aren’t supposed to post photos from the show but this isn’t really during the show, but rather lunch outside in the beautiful Santa Fe desert.”
