Haley Lu Richardson impressed us all with her role as Portia on The White Lotus, the long-suffering personal assistant to Tanya McQuoid (Jennifer Coolidge). But now that the season is over and Tanya is dead, Richardson is in need of a job, and she landed one — albeit just for today, Friday, May 12 — as the Today Show‘s official “Jonas Brothers correspondent.”

It’s no secret that Richardson is a huge fan of the Jonas Brothers. She attended a meet-and-greet for the band as a kid, and she even starred in the music video for their song “Wings.”

But on Thursday’s episode of The Today Show, she announced that she’d be working as the show’s Jonas Brothers correspondent, reporting live from their Friday performance in Rockefeller Center.

To celebrate the gig, she twerked backstage at the morning show — remember the last time that happened?!? — and then got to go full fangirl today when the JoBros actually performed.

When asked yesterday what her gig actually entails, Richardson joked, “just to be functional and not cry and pee my pants.”

She held it together (there was no pee involved) as she reported from the Jonas Brothers’ performance this morning outside the Today Show studios, but she was still super excited, yelling out “I love you, Kevin. I love you, Nick. I love you, Joe,” before they sang.

Richardson also got the chance to dole out hugs to Joe after he performed and tell him how proud of him she was.

Honestly, “Jonas Brothers Correspondent” is not a job I thought we needed in the world before today, but now that I’ve seen the sheer joy it brings to not just Haley but to the audience at home, maybe this could be a permanent gig.
