New Movies on Streaming: ‘Strays,’ ‘The Adults,’ + More

Where to Stream:

Strays (2023)

Powered by Reelgood

In this week’s new movies on VOD, Will Ferrell and Jamie Foxx star in the R-rated dog comedy Strays, about a dog trying to get revenge on his owner, and Michael Cera plays Eric in The Adults, a dramatic comedy about three siblings who are trying to figure out their relationship.

Also out this week is King on Screen, a documentary that takes a look back at the many TV and film adaptations of author Stephen King’s work. The film features interviews with directors like Mike Flanagan, who adapted King’s The Dark Tower for the screen, and The Shawshank Redemption‘s director Frank Darabont, and actors including Misery‘s James Caan and Amy Irving, who co-starred in Carrie.

These are just a few of the titles that are available to watch on Amazon Prime Video, iTunes, YouTube, and through your cable service this week. Check out what movies are available to buy or rent on demand now.

Strays

The live-action adventure-comedy Strays features the voices of Jamie Foxx, Isla Fisher, Randall Park, and plenty of other big names, who are all part of a dog pack that Will Ferrell’s character, Reggie, joins up with after being abandoned by his good-for-nothing owner Doug (Will Forte). Don’t let the CGI and fun animal adventure fool you, this comedy is for adults only.

The Adults

Michael Cera is following up Barbie with another solid IMDb entry: Catch him this week in The Adults, which also co-stars Sophia Lillis and Hannah Gross. In the film, the trio play Eric, Maggie, and Rachel, three siblings who reunite when Eric returns to the family home for a short stay. Eric is more interested in playing with his poker buddies than making meaningful connections with his sisters, further complicating their already complicated feelings for one another.
