Sorry, I’ll Admit It… Kim Kardashian Is Actually Good in ‘American Horror Story: Delicate’

Kim Kardashian’s debut in the American Horror Story franchise has been highly anticipated/dreaded, and with the first episode of the new season, Delicate, airing on FX at 10:00 p.m. on September 20, 2023, we’re here to tell you that, well, she’s actually pretty good. 

The reality star appears in the series as Siobhan Corbyn, the publicist for Emma Roberts’s Anna Victoria Alcott, a rising celebrity dealing with fertility complications. 

Kardashian’s role was clearly built purely for her. She’s a social media-savvy PR agent who gets straight to business in her correspondence with Anna, while still acting as a trusty confidant. Siobhan provides light comedic relief to the horror series, counteracting the otherwise suspenseful nature of most of the hour-long premiere episode. 

Kardashian’s debut line? “Tell the Daniels to suck my clit, she’s not missing a press day for a fucking commercial shoot,” followed by, “It’s exhausting being better than everyone.” Nothing short of iconic.

All said, Decider can confidently report that Kardashian impresses in the role. Is she great? Not quite. But she’s good — especially for this being one of her first roles where she isn’t parodying herself. 

And the internet seems to agree! Many are tweeting their praise for the socialite, as well as their surprise to see her embrace the new role. “I’m super proud of my girl @KimKardashian. Pretty sure she exceeded everyone’s expectations of her acting,” wrote one fan on social media. 

Another echoed, “Kim is killing it. When I heard her few parts in the trailer, I was skeptical. whoever she went to for acting classes, sign me up!”

A third posted, “I just love how comfortable @KimKardashian looks while in an acting role. You can tell she’s worked so hard for this!!! Bravo!”

One viewer pointed out the similarities between Kardashian’s character and her real-life momager, Kris Jenner. “Kim Kardashian basically being Kris Jenner in AHS Delicate is amazing,” they wrote. 

Shockingly enough, it is hard to find anybody on the internet with something bad to say about Kardashian’s debut in the hit show, which was first announced in April. At the time, the reality star told Variety, “It’s a challenge. I like to challenge myself,” regarding her new role. Shortly after, show creator Ryan Murphy praised her performance, saying, “Kim is among the biggest and brightest television stars in the world and we are thrilled to welcome her to the AHS family.”

We’re happy to say that we don’t disagree! Kim should go ahead and act “acting” to her resume. Thanks, we love it!
