New Movies & Shows To Stream This Weekend: Starstruck, Gen V, Flora and Son + More

If you haven’t watched the previous two seasons of Starstruck, they’re a highly-bingeable 6 episodes each, and they’re available on Max. We highly recommend checking them out before season 3 premieres this weekend. Over on Prime Video, you can watch Gen V, the highly-anticipated spinoff of The Boys, which introduces us to a new crop of heroes who are navigating teenage life on top of their super powers. And in Apple TV+, you can watch Flora and Son, which was originally released in theaters last week and is now available to stream at home.

New on Max September 29: Starstruck (Season 3)

In Starstruck, Rose Matafeo plays Jessie, an unfamous woman who has a one-night-stand with a celebrity named Tom Kapoor (Nikesh Patel) and they end up falling for one another. Think of it as if Fleabag and Notting Hill had a hilariously charming baby.

Though Jessie and Tom’s love remains as star-crossed as ever in season three, you can’t help but root for these opposites to stay attracted. All six episodes of the season will drop Friday.

WHERE TO WATCH STARSTRUCK

New on Prime September 29: Gen V

Gen V, Prime Video’s spinoff of The Boys, takes place at Godolkin University School of Crimefighting, where a new generation of supes learn how to become heroes and use their powers, while also battling the biggest demon of them all, hormones. Jaz Sinclair, Chance Perdomo and Lizze Broadway lead the cast, but don’t worry, plenty of your favorites from The Boys are set to make cameos this season, too. The first three episodes will be available this week, with new episodes dropping weekly after that.

New on Apple TV+ September 29: Flora and Son

Writer-director John Carney has previously worked on films like Once and Sing Street, His latest musical dramedy is Flora and Son, which stars Eve Hewson as a single mother whose trouble-making teenager Max (Orén Kinlan) finds a way to channel his emotions when he picks up a guitar. Joseph Gordon-Levitt plays Jeff, Max’s guitar teacher, and both he and Hewson perform and play their own instruments in the film.
