Ana Navarro wasted no time dragging Jada Pinkett Smith after her revelation that she and Will Smith had been secretly separated for seven years. On this morning’s episode of The View, the co-host accused Pinkett Smith of dropping “bombshells” every time she wants to make a quick buck.

In the Girls Trip star’s new memoir, Worthy, she admits that she has been living separately from her estranged husband since 2016, despite their facade of a happy marriage. While Sunny Hostin praised her confession as “brave” and “courageous,” Navarro had no interest in keeping up with the Smiths.

“Why do I know so much about these peoples’ marriage? I kind of feel like I know more about their marriage than I know about my own damn marriage,” she said. “I don’t need to know all of this. I just want to watch reruns of Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.”

The political commentator even went as far as to speculate that Pinkett Smith only makes shocking revelations when she wants to promote a project, a tactic Joy Behar called “smart.”

“I think she’s having a relationship with her bank account,” Navarro suggested. “Every time she needs to increase the ratings of Red Table Talk, every time she needs to sell books, she drops these bombshells. I find it unseemly.”

She added, “I will tell you this: be careful of anybody who pretends to have a perfect marriage.”

In an interview with People, Pinkett Smith — who had been separated from Smith for six years before the 2022 Oscars — opened up about the infamous slap. While she claimed she initially thought Smith rushing the stage and smacking Chris Rock after he made a joke at her expense was a “skit,” Navarro wasn’t buying it.

“Her face did not look like she thought it was a comedy sketch,” she declared. “If she thought that was a comedy sketch, she was a role in it. She was playing into it.”

The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
