Despite contrary belief, Denise Richards just revealed that she was (mostly) sober during the latest dinner party from hell on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

The actress — who starred in the Bravo series from Season 9 to Season 10 — made her grand return earlier this month to the group’s cannabis-infused dinner party. However, fans quickly noticed that there appeared to be something off with Richards, who made odd facial expressions and seemed to be slurring her words as she confronted Erika Jayne.

While many fans assumed that Richards might have been pregaming or “on something,” she fired back at the speculation while appearing on a recent episode of Bethenny Frankel‘s Just B podcast.

“I didn’t take anything — I had a drink before I went,” Richards said, per Page Six. “I was nervous seeing the women, that was it.”

The Wild Things star further insisted that she only had “half a drink” at the party, along with some “regular cold medicine” she took beforehand to treat her cold. She also said she did not consume any of the cannabis-infused cuisine.

“I don’t do weed, I don’t do edibles, I don’t do any of that,” she explained. “It doesn’t mix well with my body. I’ve tried weed twice, for the record, and I don’t like it.”

According to Richards, it’s also possible that she was mistakenly served someone else’s dish.

“I’ve never been like that in my entire life,” she said. “Maybe there was a mixup in the meal or the water. All I know is when I got home, I was like ‘There’s something wrong with me.'”

She added, “Progressively during the evening I felt worse and worse,” before admitting that she doesn’t remember half the night. “It was bizarre.”

To this day, the reality star has refrained from watching her return to the 90210 — and understandably so.

“I obviously made an ass out of myself,” she said. “So I was like ‘Why the hell am I going to watch myself like that?'”

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs every Wednesday at 8/7c on Bravo. New episodes are available to stream the next day on Peacock.
