Jennifer Garner wasn’t the only actress who was 30, flirty and thriving in her iconic 13 Going on 30 dress. On this morning’s episode of The View, the star revealed exactly what happened to the outfit once she finished filming the beloved 2004 rom-com.

Alyssa Farah Griffin was the first to bring up the green Versace dress that Garner wore as she performed Michael Jackson‘s “Thriller” dance in the movie. While actors have been known to keep props from sets they’ve worked on, Garner said she played it safe and decided to leave her costume behind.

“Well, first of all, you’re not supposed to keep your clothes,” she explained. “I’m a goody two-shoes so I [didn’t]. Also, who had any idea that that movie was gonna be more than just something that came and went?”

According to the Alias star, the dress “ended up in a warehouse with other clothes from the movie.” While 13 Going on 30 was the last time she would see the outfit, Hollywood certainly wasn’t finished with it just yet.

“It ended up in the background — it was just put on background players in Sex and the City,” Garner explained as clips of other actors wearing the dress appeared on the screen. “Yeah, there it is! Get out of my dress! Give me my dress back! I love that dress!”

Whoopi Goldberg, a veteran actress herself, then added, “I have seen some of my outfits in different places so I think, ‘Oh, wow! Wow. It looks so good on you.‘”

13 Going on 30 follows Jenna Rink, a 13-year-old girl in 1987, who wakes up as a 30-year-old magazine editor in 2004. Over the last two decades, the movie has become a rom-com staple, and Garner couldn’t be prouder.

“It’s out right now on Netflix. I’m really feeling it,” she told the panel. “Whenever it’s airing somewhere, people stop me [and say], ‘I watched it again last night.’ It’s so sweet that it’s such a comfort movie for so many people. It makes me so happy.”

The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
