Stephen Colbert helped make Emma Stone‘s Jeopardy dream come true. On a recent episode of The Late Show, the Oscar-nominated actress got to put her skills to the test when Colbert set up a makeshift version of the long-running game show.

Last month, Stone revealed that she applies to be a contestant on Jeopardy “every June” — however, she also said she wouldn’t join Celebrity Jeopardy because she wants to “earn [her] stripes,” per Variety.

The Poor Things star doubled down on that statement while promoting her movie on The Late Show.

“If you know that you applied, you took the quiz, you got on the show through actually having the brains to get on the show — not that [on] Celebrity Jeopardy people don’t have the brains because I’ve seen some really impressive candidates — however, I just want to know that I passed the test,” she said.

According to Stone, her fervent desire to join the Ken Jennings-hosted quiz show is because she “didn’t really graduate from high school” and “didn’t go to college.”

“I like knowing I passed the test,” she said, before joking, “This is my degree.”

Eventually, Colbert busted out a handful of Jeopardy clue cards — all of which were late-night and Ed Sullivan-themed questions taken from the actual show — while his band played their own rendition of the iconic theme song.

“Emma Stone, welcome to Jeopardy,” Colbert said, to which Stone quipped, “Now you’re gonna understand why I haven’t gotten on the show.”

Despite her self-deprecation, the actress pretty much nailed all the questions, correctly naming icons like The Beatles, J.R.R. Tolkien and Elvis Presley. Out of the seven clues, she only missed two — and one of them was on purpose.

The final clue read: “On Jan. 30, 2024, Emma Stone appeared on The Late Show in support of her outstanding performance and Oscar nomination for this film.”

The star jokingly responded, “What is Being Here With You Tonight?” to which Colbert responded, “Oh, sorry we were looking for Poor Things!”

If you ask me, Stone might be ready to take it up with the big guns on Jeopardy! Jennings, your move.

The Late Show airs on weeknights at 11:35 p.m. ET on CBS. You can watch the full video above.
