Get in, grandpas. We’re going to the Bachelor mansion!

Following The Golden Bachelor‘s groundbreaking debut season, ABC announced that the highly-anticipated senior spin-off, The Golden Bachelorette, will be airing this fall.

The news was delivered on February 10, during another info-packed day at the Television Critics Association’s 2024 winter tour. We also learned that ABC renewed The Bachelorette for another season, which is set to air in summer 2024.

Decider reported that The Golden Bachelorette was almost certainly a go back in January after casting calls and applications appeared online. Per an ABC press release, additional details on the upcoming series — including casting — will be announced at a later date, but one question on The Golden Bachelorette application suggests the series might not have its leading lady just yet.

The final question on The Golden Bachelorette application reads, “If you are male, did you watch The Golden Bachelor? If yes, which of the women did you find yourself most attracted to and why. You can list more than one.” As noted in our previous piece, the language sounds as if The Golden Bachelorette team is using these answers to inform their lead decision, or they’ve already selected a Golden Bachelor alum to be our first Golden Gal and are casting contestants based (at least in part) on which men are interested in her.

Following the early, overwhelming success of The Golden Bachelor, Decider made a compelling case for The Golden Bachelorette and even chose eight contenders we’d love to see follow in Gerry’s shoes, with Golden Bachelor runner-up Leslie Fhima now claiming the top spot. When chatting with Golden Spouses Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist in December 2023 ahead of their Golden Wedding, the couple also assured Decider they’re all for one of the Golden Bachelor girls getting her own season in the future. “It’s absolutely true that any one of these women would be perfect,” Nist said. “We want that to be special for them. I hope that happens. And yeah, we’re excited to see!”

Per ABC, The Golden Bachelor‘s debut season “reached 43.4 million Total Viewers after 35 days of viewing across linear and streaming platforms” and it “ranks as the No. 1 new unscripted series this season among Adults 18-49 (0.84 rating).” The new series was also named “ABC’s No. 1 unscripted series premiere ever on Hulu,” so it makes sense that the franchise would want to do more of what works.

Amidst dozens of personal questions about everything from vaccination status, net worth, past relationships, and family members to political views, religion, social media presence, and more, The Golden Bachelorette application also notes, “Production is scheduled for this summer. Do you have any conflicts during June-August 2024?” Though an exact premiere date is unknown, it sounds like The Golden Bachelorette could start filming in just a few months.

After the sweeping”historic” success of The Golden Bachelor, we understand the rush.

While we wait to learn more about The Golden Bachelorette‘s premiere date and casting, you can follow the series on Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook.
