Emma Stone had two shocking moments at Sunday night’s Oscars when she won the Best Actress award … and popped her dress open at the prestigious event.

Stone — who won the award in an upset after Killers of the Flower Moon‘s Lily Gladstone was widely anticipated to receive the honor — was visibly stunned when her name was called, and had a wardrobe malfunction seconds later when her dress appeared to open up as she embraced her husband.

When Stone walked up to the stage, she placed her hand on the back where her zipper had come undone and seemingly mouthed to presenter Jessica Lange, “My dress, my dress is broken.”

While Lange appeared to try and fix the issue, she couldn’t do much as Stone accepted her award — thankfully with her broken zipper concealed as she faced the crowd.

“Oh boy,” an overwhelmed Stone said, before telling the audience, “My dress is broken,” and pivoting to show the small opening in her gown (a stunning design by Louis Vuitton).

Stone quipped, “I think it happened during ‘I’m Just Ken,’ I’m pretty sure,” referring to Barbie star Ryan Gosling‘s impeccable musical performance earlier in the night.

Stone, who was accepting her second win in the category, continued, “This is really overwhelming,” before apologizing for her hoarse voice and honoring the women onstage and the other nominees in her category.

“I share this with you. I am in awe of you,” Stone said.

She added, “The other night, I was panicking, as you can kind of see, happens a lot — that maybe something like this could happen, and Yorgos [Lanthimos] said to me, ‘Please take yourself out of it.’ And he was right, because it’s not about me. It’s about a team that came together to make something greater than the sum of its parts. And that is the best part about making movies.”

Stone then said she was sharing her award with “every cast member and every crew member,” and thanked director Lanthimos for giving her the role of Bella Baxter, “the gift of a lifetime.”

She closed out her speech by exclaiming, “Thank you so much! Don’t look at the back of my dress.”
