Black Mirror has finally unveiled a first look at Season 7, and it looks like fans will finally get a sequel for one of the most popular episodes of the series: “USS Callister.”

Netflix teased the new season at the streamer’s See What’s Next Event in London. “USS Callister will return… Robert Daly is dead, but for the crew of the USS Callister, their problems are just beginning,” the teaser said, per The Hollywood Reporter.

Netflix also shared a teaser on social media, which includes the signature music from the episode. It also briefly includes the USS Callister’s crest, which all the characters wore on their uniforms.

“Six new stories, but one looks a little familiar,” Netflix wrote in a post on X.

The episode appears to serve as a sequel to the Season 4 episode which was directed by Toby Haynes.

The episode starred Jesse Plemons as Robert Daly, a gifted programmer who co-founded a multiplayer online game. Fueled by feelings of under-appreciation and humiliation, Daly creates digital clones of his colleagues using their DNA to create an online adventure within the game that feels reminiscent of Star Trek. As their captain, Daly takes out his frustrations on the crew, often with terrible consequences.

Cristin Milioti stars as Nanette Cole, a new hire who empowers her colleagues to fight against Daly.

The episode featured a star-studded cast, including Michaela Coel, Billy Magnussen, and Jimmi Simpson. It is unclear who from the cast will be reprising their roles for this new installment. But, by the sound of Netflix’s teaser, it looks like at least some of the characters should be expected back.

Black Mirror creator Charlie Brooker co-wrote the episode with William Bridges.

Brooker will stay on as executive producer of the series, alongside Jessica Rhoades and Annabel Jones.

A premiere date has not been announced yet but Season 7 is currently slated for a 2025 release.
