Shooting sex scenes under her son Damian Hurley’s direction wasn’t a problem for Elizabeth Hurley.

While speaking with Access Hollywood, Elizabeth and Damian opened up about filming Strictly Confidential, Damian’s new film, which he described as being “about a haunted young woman who becomes fixated on the fact that her best friend didn’t really kill herself.”

“She can’t quite get her head around what’s happened and she truly believes there’s more to the story,” he explained to co-hosts Mario Lopez and Kit Hoover. “And we follow her, and she starts to realize that there’s more to her best friend’s suicide than what meets the eye.”

The conversation about filming intimate moments was preceded by talk of Damian taking pictures of his mother for her bikini line, which he claimed people find “controversial,” per Page Six.

“Show business has been a fundamental part of my life my entire life, so to us, it’s just not a thing,” he shared. “It’s just part of business. She takes my photos, I take her photos.”

As for Elizabeth, she highlighted that she’s “more relaxed in front of him” and that “it’s relaxing knowing someone’s behind the camera who looks out for you, which was the same on this movie in a way.”

“The things that his script needed me to do in this weren’t necessarily things I’d always done in movies many times before,” she elaborated. “But having him there meant that I felt safe and looked after. And I knew in the production, in the post, I knew he looked after me. So actually, it’s kind of liberating to work with your family. I may do it again.”

Damian agreed that he felt in his “comfort zone” directing his mother.

Elizabeth and Damian are not the first parent-child partnership to chat about their experience as coworkers. Ethan Hawke recently claimed to Variety that he and his daughter Maya Hawke were “so comfortable” while he directed her sex scenes in Wildcat. Maya noted that they “made sure to have an intimacy coordinator on set” for her scene partners Rafael Casal and Cooper Hoffman.

“So that they felt safe and comfortable and not like they were being spied on …,” she clarified, as Ethan jokingly added, “… by some creepy dad.”

Strictly Confidential hits select theaters and digital on April 5. Check out the trailer above.
