Vanderpump Villa is the latest workplace reality series to join the Lisa Vanderpump-verse. The show follows her hand-selected staff as they work in her French château. But another country doesn’t exactly rid Vanderpump of the relationship drama that once got everyone hooked on Vanderpump Rules more than 10 years ago. While OG stars Stassi Schroeder and Jax Taylor‘s romance is long in the past, Vanderpump Villa’s Hannah Fouch and Marciano Brunette have done an exceptional job filling their shoes.

The couple enters the château on rocky terms. While they dated for three years, they ultimately called things off when Brunette failed to stay faithful. But, one month before they arrived in France, they hooked up again — putting them back in uncharted territory. While they have “no status” at this point in the series, Fouch admits rather quickly that there is “still a jealousy factor” between them.

Whether it’s their alpha personalities or Brunette’s hot-headed tendencies, they are reminiscent of Schroeder and Taylor — who dated in the early days of Vanderpump Rules. Fortunately for them, they don’t mind the comparison.

“I love that we’re getting compared to Stassi and Jax,” Fouch, a server at Château Rosabelle, told Decider ahead of the show’s premiere. “I think Stassi is an icon and I think she’s amazing.”

While she took pride in sharing personality traits with Schroeder, she noted that her relationship with Brunette isn’t exactly the same as that of the veteran reality stars when they were together.

“Him and I have been together off-and-on for four years and I feel like our relationship is a little bit different than theirs,” she said. “But yeah, I mean, I could see why people do compare us to Jax and Stassi because I call it as I see it and so does he … [and] he does make bad choices sometimes.”

Brunette — who works as Vanderpump’s lead server — agreed with Fouch, adding that there are “a lot of tendencies that we both have that you’ll see it from their show to ours.”

“Like [Hannah] kind of said, she’s queen bee. I’m, you know, the No. 1 man in the group, I think,” he joked. “So it’s kind of funny that way in that aspect. But we’re very different and we’re not the same either. And I mean, our relationship is also very different as well, like she said.”

He continued, “We’re okay with the comparisons … for now.”

Schroeder and Taylor broke up in Season 1 of Vanderpump Rules after he admitted to cheating on her and getting a woman in Las Vegas pregnant. They briefly reconciled in Season 2, before calling it quits for good. Now, Schroeder is happily married to Beau Clark, while Taylor is recently separated from his wife Brittany Cartwright.

Now the question is: will Fouch and Brunette change courses and stand the test of time? Or will they take a page out of their forefathers’ book and split up once and for all? Only time will tell!

The first three episodes of Vanderpump Villa are currently streaming on Hulu. New episodes drop every Monday.
