It’s finally here: Bridgerton Season 3 will premiere this week on Netflix! It’s been more than two years since we watched Viscount Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) and Miss Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley) finally wind up happily ever after together. Now, it’s time for Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) to get her man, Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton). Sure, we had Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story to distract us, but it’s about time we finally find out what happens next to our favorite Bridgerton characters…

Bridgerton Season 3 is going to mix things up for hardcore fans of Julia Quinn’s bestselling romance novels. Instead of following the order of the books, Bridgerton Season 3 is skipping ahead to the events of Book 4, Penelope and Colin’s book, Romancing Mr. Bridgerton. That novel follows wallflower Penelope’s journey to step into the light, as Lady Danbury (Adjoa Andoh) would say. Bridgerton Season 3 is playing with the story a little bit, introducing the idea that Penelope must marry someone or else suffer the indignity of living in one of her sister’s households. Penelope makes herself over with the help of ally Madame Delacroix (Kathryn Drysdale), but lacks the social skills to secure herself a match. Colin volunteers to “teach” her so as to get back into her good graces. Don’t forget: Bridgerton Season 2 ended with Penelope eavesdropping on her long-time crush Colin scoffing to other gentlemen that he would not dream of courting Penelope Featherington! Thereby crushing her crush.

So how will Penelope blossom in Bridgerton Season 3? How soon will Colin begin to catch feelings for his childhood friend? And will Pen’s secret double life as Lady Whistledown be exposed? When can you watch Bridgerton Season 3 on Netflix?
