Sunny Hostin is done taking the high road. On this morning’s episode of The View, the co-host defended Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett for firing back at Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene for insulting her physical appearance at a recent hearing on Capitol Hill.

What began as a contempt case Republicans are trying to bring against Attorney General Merrick Garland quickly turned into chaos after Greene made a snarky comment about Crockett’s “fake eyelashes.” New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez then slammed an unapologetic Greene for “attacking” the physical appearance of another woman.

Greene’s insult was not ruled a violation of House rules, prompting Crockett to go on the counter-attack when she asked for clarification on what is and isn’t allowed.

“Just to better understand your ruling, if someone on this committee then starts talking about somebody’s bleach blonde, bad-built, butch body, that would not be engaging personalities, right?” Crockett asked.

While chatting about the heated moment on The View, Joy Behar felt as though Crockett was well within her right to hurl an insult back at the controversial Republican politician.

“First of all, Crockett did not start the fight [and] neither did AOC. That crazy Marjorie Taylor Greene started the fight,” Behar said. “And by the way, why can’t they go after her the way they should? It just comes from one side, to be obnoxious? No.”

Alyssa Farah Griffin, on the other hand, thought they were both in the wrong.

“I don’t love taking the bait, though, and I like Jasmine Crockett,” she said. “The problem is if one goes scorched-earth to the floor and the other meets them there, our politics is just gonna descend.”

However, Sunny Hostin jumped in to inform her co-host that “going high doesn’t work anymore.”

“If you go low with me, I’m gonna go to the earth’s crust. I’m gonna become small like an ant and I’m gonna meet you where you are. Bullies only respond to that,” she said, while an unconvinced Griffin chimed in, “What are you telling our kids, though?”

Still, Hostin insisted, “You gotta go low, Alyssa. You gotta go low.”

The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
