‘Yellowstone’ Update: Season 5, Part 2 Currently Filming In Montana

Yellowstone fans just secured a promising update from the network behind the beloved series.

In a press release shared Monday with Decider, Paramount Network announced that Taylor Sheridan‘s Western series has “started production” and is “currently filming in Montana.” The network also confirmed that the show is still “slated to return in November,” as previously revealed in November 2023.

This news follows a March Puck report that Season 5, Part 2 was “already written,” and that filming would commence “in a few weeks.”

While fans haven’t been treated to a new episode of Yellowstone in nearly a year and a half, there has been plenty of news and speculation surrounding the series to keep them engaged in the meantime.

Despite previous reports that series star Kevin Costner would not return for the upcoming final installment, Costner told Entertainment Tonight last month that in terms of a comeback, he would “like to be able to do it but we haven’t been able to.”

He also told the outlet about what he would hope to see take place for his character, John Dutton, noting that he “needs to be proactive in what happens” and that he’s “kind of had [his] own fantasy how it might be.”

“But that’s Taylor’s thing,” he added. “I said as much to him a while back. I had thoughts how it could happen, but we just have to see.”

In other Yellowstone news, Cole Hauser recently teased the possibility of a spin-off with his co-star and on-screen love interest, Kelly Reilly, telling Country Living in April that he “know[s] that there’s some stuff on the horizon when it comes to Taylor [Sheridan]’s ideas for Kelly Reilly and myself and some of the other cast.”

“I’m excited to see where he goes creatively with that but right now it’s just, let’s finish strong; let’s do the best we can,” he continued.
