Do You Have What It Takes To Be A Contestant On ‘Pop Culture Jeopardy!’? Here’s How To Apply

Pop quiz, hotshot. You’ve watched all 1,355 episodes of Law & Order, can’t hear the term “New Miserable Experience” without humming the first few notes of “Hey Jealousy,” absolutely know where the beef was and is, and can rattle off the origin of seemingly random quotes like “I’m right on top of that, Rose!” and “You’re killing me, Smalls” like a prized geography student reciting the state capitals. What do you do? WHAT DO YOU DO?

If you spent your formative years hanging with Mr. Cooper and the rest of the TGIF gang, have an encyclopedic knowledge of rock and/or roll, and would never, under any circumstances, dare to taunt Happy Fun Ball, you should consider applying to be a contestant on Pop Culture Jeopardy!.

Prime Video’s upcoming Jeopardy! spinoff is searching for teams of three to compete on the first season of the buzzy new game show. Per Jeopardy!, contestants will need to be experts in categories from “alternative rock to The Avengers, Broadway to MMA, and Gen Z to Zendaya.” Do you have to know all the words to the ’90s TNBC series Hang Time theme song to participate? No. I don’t believe so. But who knows? It might help.

The registration process is fairly straightforward:

  • Create a team of three players.
  • One team member must register (you can create an account on the website) and create a team name (example: Team Discovery Channel).
  • After you sign up, you’ll need to register your team. You’ll receive a “team code and link” to share with your teammates.
  • The other two players will use their team code to register under the “Join An Existing Team” section.
  • Each member will then take their own Pop Culture Jeopardy! Anytime Test. The test takes 15 minutes and consists of 50 clues. You’ll have 15 seconds to respond to each clue.
  • Individual test scores will be combined into a team score. Teams with passing scores will receive an application, followed by an invitation to a virtual audition.
