Sunny Hostin has been openly critical of Nikki Haley since before she announced her bid for the 2024 presidential election. With the former Republican candidate officially out of the race and now supporting Donald Trump, Hostin claimed she was “never an earnest politician.”

Despite claiming Trump was “not qualified” for the presidency and calling him and Joe Bidenequally bad” for the country, Haley declared this week that she would be voting for the former president in November.

“I’ve always said she was a flip-flopper, she couldn’t be trusted,” Hostin said on this morning’s episode of The View. “I think this is about her future in politics with the Republican Party that is really the Trump Party. She was never an earnest politician if one exists.”

Hostin continued, “I think Barack Obama was an earnest politician. I think we did have some in the White House.”

She then took a moment to give Alyssa Farah Griffin a big fat I told ya so. “I’m not surprised. I called it, as you know,” she told her co-host, who strongly vouched for a Haley presidency before she dropped out in the primaries.

Like Hostin, Griffin was not surprised, though she was “disappointed” that Haley would support Trump.

“I lost all faith in politicians quite some time ago,” she said. “Maybe I’m being petty but if someone attacked my intelligence, my family, my marriage, the American democracy, I probably wouldn’t then go back and support them.”

According to Griffin, Haley’s voters feel “betrayed” by her change of tune.

“I’ve always believed that the Haley voters actually were with her more because she was an avatar for something other than Trump,” she said. “I wasn’t with Haley because I thought she was perfect. I was pretty critical of her a number of times on this show. But she gave us hope for a party that could start inching in the right direction.”

Griffin added, “I am not convinced these 150,000 who turned out in suburban Pennsylvania to cast a protest vote for her are gonna go to Trump because she’s supporting them.”

The former White House staffer further blasted Haley, telling her co-hosts, “This is political expediency. It’s pathetic. It’s cowardly. And she did not help Donald Trump but she damaged herself, honestly, irreparably.”
