What was your favorite moment from Season 49 of Saturday Night Live? The “Beavis and Butt-Head” sketch was obviously an instant classic, but I also enjoyed “Jumanji” and Sarah Sherman playing Colin Jost’s son CJ Rossitano on Weekend Update (cue Harry Chapin’s iconic single “Cat’s in the Cradle”).

Jesse Hassenger recently wrote about the ten most-watched Season 49 sketches on YouTube for Decider. Unsurprisingly, Ryan Gosling and Mikey Day’s “Beavis and Butt-Head” bit captured the top spot (14 million views), followed by “I’m Just Pete” (13 million) and Nate Bargatze’s “Washington’s Dream” (8.7 million). “Protective Mom 2” (5.9 million) featuring Bad Bunny and Pedro Pascal and a State of the Union cold open (5.9 million) that includes a guest spot from Scarlett Johansson rounded out the top five.

Nope. Tonight’s SNL is a repeat of Season 49’s Josh Brolin/Ariana Grande episode that originally aired on March 9.

When Does Saturday Night Live Return With New Episodes?

Last week, Jake Gyllenhaal hosted the Season 49 finale of SNL. The series will return in the fall of 2024 for its historic fiftieth season.

No official debut date for Season 50 has been announced, but Saturday Night Live typically premieres in late September or early October.
