Captain Lee Rosbach has finally broken his silence on what led to his fallout with Summer House star Carl Radke.

Rosbach addressed his sour friendship with Radke on a recent episode of his Salty With Captain Lee podcast, revealing that he gave the part-time Loverboy employee a safe space to tell his side of the story shortly after he called off his wedding with Lindsay Hubbard.

“Carl and I used to be close and I gave Carl an opportunity to be on the podcast and tell it as he saw it,” Rosbach said. “There was a question he wanted taken off. We took it off. There was something he didn’t want to answer, we didn’t put him on the spot. We didn’t hang him out to dry.”

He continued, “It was a softball interview if I’ve ever seen one. I would never have done something intentionally to put Carl on the spot.”

But shortly after the podcast episode was teased, Rosbach claimed Radke “demanded” that he not air the interview.

“I got a phone call from Carl and he just went off how I was taking advantage of him and trying to put him on the spot,” he said. “I was blown away. I don’t know what made him go off the way he went off or why he thought what he was thinking. I really don’t have a clue to what he was thinking.”

Rosbach added, “I told him, ‘You don’t want it aired? Fine. No problem. We won’t air it.'”

The Below Deck alum’s co-host Sam DeCavalcanti said they felt “blindsided” and “a little thrown off” by Radke’s outburst, noting that they didn’t paint him or Hubbard “in a bad light” during their chat.

“He got the best possible interview from anybody that he was ever gonna get and I gave him the opportunity to tell his story from his viewpoint and he could say what he wanted to say. He did not have to say anything he felt uncomfortable with,” Rosbach chimed in, adding that Radke ultimately hung up the call after accusing the captain of “deceiving him.”

Rosbach, who became close with Radke after they both lost family members to addiction, said he felt like “certain people weren’t entirely honest” with him after watching Summer House Season 8.

“It bothers me because I was trying to do whatever I could to help Carl through this difficult time that he was going through. That’s why I wanted to give him the opportunity to tell his side of the story because everybody deserves to have their opinion heard and what they perceive to be facts,” he said. “I wanted to give him that opportunity. And then to be slapped around for it didn’t sit well with me.”

DECIDER has reached out to reps for Radke for comment, but did not hear back by the time of publication.
