A father figure can have different meanings for many people. That person can be their actual father or an adult male that they were close to in life. They can be someone who is super strict or someone that lets them figure everything out for themselves. They can be someone who is openly affectionate or someone who shows their love subtly. Whatever that situation may be, Father’s Day is the day to honor that person, and you can do so by watching an entertaining movie with them.

Cast: Steve Carell, Timothée Chalamet, Amy Ryan, Maura Tierney

Description: Nicolas Sheff appeared to be a dream son for so long. He got good grades, participated in many activities, liked to write, and was sociable. All of that changed when Nicolas became addicted to meth, causing his life to spiral out of control. His father, David, is usually there to pick up the pieces, as he loves his son. However, he can only pick up those pieces for so long, as those efforts can seem meaningless if Nicolas is not trying to improve himself. At the end of the day, David just wants to help his son, but that is not an easy task.

Based on a true story, Beautiful Boy demonstrates the importance of a father-son relationship. David and Nicolas both have their issues, but they still love each other. The film demonstrates that even though it may not always look to be the case, your father just wants what’s best for you.

Through each step of the way, while JR’s real father keeps disappointing JR, Charlie is always making sure that JR keeps working hard and never gives up.

While Charlie may not be JR’s real father, he is more of a father than what JR ever had. Charlie shows that father figures are important to have in a person’s life and they can come from everywhere.
