Team Green believes that Alicent Hightower’s son, Aegon (Tom Glynn-Carney), should be king simply because he was his father’s eldest male heir. Never mind the fact that he’s kind of a selfish idiot who tried to shirk from the position. Team Black, on the other hand, sticks with the dead king Viserys’s (Paddy Considine) proclamation that his eldest child, daughter Rhaenyra, should inherit the Iron Throne. Working against Rhaenyra are sexism and scandal. She blithely bore three bastard children in her first marriage, convinced it wouldn’t be a problem.

House of the Dragon Season 2 will see Team Green and Team Black embroiled in all out war now that Alicent’s son Aemond (Ewan Mitchell) and his dragon Vhagar have killed Rhaenyra’s son Luke (Elliot Grihault).
