Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos gave their take on the trend of “menopause parties” on this morning’s Live with Kelly and Mark, which Ripa noted are increasing in popularity.

“Grab your CoQ10 and your lubricant,” she quipped, as Consuelos added, “And your fans.”

Ripa read that “throughout western culture, menopause is not often celebrated.

“I don’t know why. I think it’s great,” she said. “‘And for years, it’s been a hush-hush topic.’ Not on this show. ‘But it’s all a-changing.'”

She then shared that “Naomi Watts has been having menopause parties,” explaining that she”watch[es] it on Instagram.”

“They look like fun. Everybody looks very happy,” she continued.

She proceeded to read out that “as more and more people are feeling comfortable about being in menopause, they shed some of the stigma and shame around aging and being in menopause.”

“I’m not sure why there is a stigma attached it to it,” she said. “I really can’t figure it out.”

She continued explaining how people are “taking the opportunity to celebrate” being in menopause, citing the example of “having dinner at your favorite restaurant.”As she skimmed the reading in her hand, she noted, “This sounds like a girls’ night out to me.”

After Live‘s EP Michael Gelman, from off-camera, asked if that means men “can’t come” and “celebrate,” Consuelos replied, “No, we don’t wanna — no, no, no. We don’t wanna be there.”

Following laughter from the audience and a blank stare from Ripa, Consuelos clarified, “We want you guys to have your time.” While Ripa continued looking at the papers in her hand and not looking at Consuelos, Consuelos rubbed her back and teased, “I can feel the heat coming from your body.”

Ripa then brought up that there are “andropause parties,” as well, to which Consuelos replied, “Oh good, low-T? Low-T, we’ll watch The Notebook. Or, uh, My Little Pony. And just cry.”

Ripa joked, “Oh, that sounds like fun. Well, you can’t come to our menopause party, that’s for sure.”

Consuelos shifted to become more serious, shedding light on how “important” it is to “remove the stigma,” arguing that “there should be no stigma.”

Ripa echoed, “Yeah, I don’t understand the stigma,” which the audience responded to with a round of applause.
