The first debate of the 2024 presidential election is only a week away — and while The View‘s Sunny Hostin is hopeful that Joe Biden meets Donald Trump “where he’s at,” she doesn’t think he should take Joy Behar‘s advice of bringing up the kinky details about the former president’s alleged affair with adult film star Stormy Daniels.

This highly anticipated debate will be different from past debates, with no opening statements, no notes, no live audiences and microphones will be muted while the other candidate is speaking — likely to “stop Trump from going into rants,” as Behar pointed out.

According to Hostin, she’s anticipating the debate to be much like Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots.

“I think it’s gonna be a lot of back-and-forth,” she speculated. “I think that [Biden] needs to not go so statesmanly that he lets Trump get away with the stalking type of behavior we saw with Hillary Clinton [and] all of the misinformation we saw with the Kaitlan Collins interview.”

She continued, “I think he needs to meet him where he’s at and beat him at his own game.”

Behar, being the comedian she is, had one below-the-belt suggestion for the current POTUS.

“So Joe should not say something like, ‘While I was helping Obama with the Affordable Care Act and when I reduced inflation and when I brought gas prices down’ — supposedly, I don’t know if he can even do that — ‘You were getting hit with a rolled up newspaper by a porn star,'” she said, before asking, “Should he say that?”

Daniels previously testified that Trump once dared her to spank him with a magazine amid his marriage to Melania Trump.

“It’s just history,” Behar said, to which Hostin replied, “I don’t think he goes that far but I do think he meets him where he’s at as a statesman.”

Meanwhile, Ana Navarro noted that it would be a bad look to go after the president’s son, Hunter Biden, who has openly struggled with drug addiction.

“If Donald Trump goes after Hunter Biden, he does it at his own peril,” she said. “[There are] few American families that haven’t been touched by the scour of addiction, including the Trump family. He has a brother who died of addiction.”

Hostin later added, “[Hunter] was punished as you were, Donald,” referring to both men’s recent convictions.

The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
