Kelly Ripa Forced To “Start The Show Over” On ‘Live’ After Wardrobe Mishap

This morning’s Live with Kelly and Mark featured a literal mic drop — down Kelly Ripa‘s dress.

As she and Mark Consuelos dished on their son Joaquin visiting with his three roommates from Michigan and the experience of feeding four wrestlers “when they’re not cutting weight,” viewers could hear static.

Eventually, Ripa picked up on it as she adjusted her dress and felt that her microphone had fallen down.

“Oh, look at this. Look what I found. My microphone down here,” she said, “by my bosom.”

As she began snaking her mic back up her dress, she quipped, “That’s where my bosom is, sir. I’m sorry!”

Consuelos asked his wife and co-host if she needed assistance, to which she noted that she “got it,” issuing a brief apology.

“Let me start the show over. Welcome, everyone!” she joked while she clipped the mic back near her collar.

Consuelos assured her that her microphone “was there to begin with.”

“I think it just slipped down,” he added.

Ripa teased, “Thankfully I’m so loud that we don’t even need my microphone.”

The two quickly got their host chat back on track, as they eventually revealed that they “went through eight loaves of bread and a bag of a dozen croissants in one night,” as well as “a vat of Nutella.” However, Ripa later hit another silly snag while introducing their trivia dancer, who she said was “from Orlando, California.”

Following some laughter, Consuelos clarified, “Florida.”

“Huh? What did I say?” Ripa replied. “I said Orlando, California? I did?”

After Consuelos teased that he’s “sure there’s an Orlando in California,” Ripa said that she was “so tied up with Eric now” — their Stump Mark contestant, who was from Los Angeles — “that everything is California.”
