Olivia Flowers, who was at the center of Southern Charm Season 9’s drama, will not be returning to the long-running Bravo reality series.

After months of rumors that Flowers wouldn’t appear on Southern Charm Season 10, she confirmed the news on today’s new episode of Vanderpump Rules star Scheana Shay‘s Scheananigans podcast.

“It wasn’t my choice. I was a little thrown off by it, especially with how the last season went,” Flowers admitted. “I feel like I really gave everything I could, given the circumstance, so I was definitely disappointed.”

Flowers added that she was “super bummed” she wouldn’t get to film a “less heavy” season — which, in part, was because she was spending more time in Texas, where her boyfriend and parents live.

“I got the call like, a few weeks before filming from the production company,” she explained. “[They were] asking the questions like, ‘You don’t really seem to be in Charleston that much. We’re noticing on your Instagram you’re traveling, you’re in Texas, you’ve got this new boyfriend, and it just seems like you’re choosing a different path.’”

Flowers continued, “I don’t think it’s choosing a different path. I’m just kinda living my life. My parents had just officially moved to Texas and I was wanted to be closer to them, and the boyfriend thing just happened very randomly. I’m really glad that I did go off and do that. Like, he was the best part that came out of that year.”

However, the former reality star implied that she would’ve done things differently had she known her time away from Charleston was “working against” her, noting that she wished “there had been more communication.”

The shocking news comes months after Flowers flourished as Southern Charm Season 9’s breakout star. Not only did she bravely let viewers in on the aftermath of her brother’s shocking death, but she was also embroiled in a heated feud with former bestie Taylor Ann Green.

When Flowers first joined the series in Season 8, she struck up a short-lived romance with playboy Austen Kroll. But he revealed in Season 9 that, after they ended things, he went on to kiss Green — who, at that point in time, was Flowers’ confidant.

“I wanted to have another season to get to be more me,” she told Shay. “Last season was very heavy, and I was honestly just trying to keep my head above water. I was looking forward to having another [season] and getting to be a little bit more myself, show my personality and exploring the new friendships and all that. So yeah, I was super bummed about it.”

She later added, “I went from feeling pretty confident and excited for the next part of it to then being a little blindsided.”

Flowers concluded that she hopes the “door’s not closed for good.”

Southern Charm is currently streaming on Peacock.
