‘The View’ Says Trump “Probably Thought” J.D. Vance Calling Him “America’s Hitler” Was A “Compliment”

The View saw J.D. Vance‘s comments about “childless cat ladies,” and they’re not happy. On this morning’s episode, the co-hosts tore Donald Trump‘s VP pick to shreds over remarks he made about the future of the Democratic party on a 2021 episode of Tucker Carlson Tonight.

While speaking to the FOX News host, Vance said, in part, “We’re effectively run in this country … by a bunch of childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives and the choices that they’ve made and so they want to make the rest of the country miserable too.”

Vance added, “The entire future of the Democrats is controlled by people without children, and how does it make any sense that we’ve turned our country over to people who don’t really have a direct stake in it?”

Joy Behar was not impressed by Vance’s resurfaced words, especially his dig at cat ladies.

“It’s so mean against cats!” she exclaimed. “Why do Republicans hate animals? One of them once shot a puppy, now he’s dragging poor cats into the situation. What is their problem with animals?

“And you know, Trump doesn’t have a dog. He’s the only president in my lifetime who doesn’t have a frickin’ dog, because he skeeves them,” Behar continued, before giving her own take about Vance’s future as reports bubble up that Republicans are regretting Trump’s pick for VP.

“I think it’s very hard for Trump to get over the fact that he called him ‘America’s Hitler,’ even though he reneged on it.”

Sara Haines chimed in, “He probably thought it was a compliment,” and Behar agreed, replying, “Well, I’m sure Trump thinks it’s a compliment. Yes, for sure.”

She added, “But I mean, a hard one to get over, I think, when someone called you the most disgraceful, the most evil person in the world. And now you say, ‘I didn’t really mean it.’ He’s history pretty soon, just watch.”

While Vance has sidled up to Trump in recent years, he was once a fierce critic of the one-term POTUS, even calling him an “idiot” and “reprehensible,” per Reuters, and once describing him in a text as “America’s Hitler.” Vance has since walked back his criticism, telling FOX he was “skeptical” of Trump during his 2016 campaign but thought he was a “great president” who caused him to “change [his] mind.”
