Jenna Bush Hager is not yet done teasing Hoda Kotb for the hilarious photo she took with Tom Cruise at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

In the photo, Kotb is wearing a white rain poncho that is tied tight around her face while she wears a big smile next to Cruise. She shared the photo on social media with the caption, “You know when you dream of meeting tom cruise.. and then it happens?”

But Bush Hager promptly reposted the photo herself to ask, “I ask again: because I’m [genuinely] curious were you wrapped in plastic from head to toe in your dream?”

On Today With Hoda & Jenna, Bush Hager once again ribbed her co-host for the hilarious outfit. “I mean, I’m sorry but you look like a condom,” she told Kotb, who almost spit out her coffee in shock.

She continued, “And it reminded me of when my dad had a problem with the poncho at the inauguration. I’m like, you are my dad! You are my dad!”

Kotb laughed as she recalled that hilarious moment Bush Hager’s father, former President George W. Bush, had at the 2009 inauguration of Barack Obama. “I remember when your dad was wrestling with that poncho,” she said as she laughed. “You know why [I wore the poncho]? I thought we might have to go on air because it was pouring and we were on the bridge.”

But she maintained that she was “so excited” to meet Cruise and she “still liked” the photo – despite Bush Hager’s teasing.

Later when the show came back from commercial, Bush Hager got to do a side-by-side comparison of Kotb and her father.

“See? I mean, tell me y’all are not separated at birth. Tell me you are not separated at birth, okay? Ponchogate!” she said.

As Kotb laughed, Bush Hager added, “If you didn’t learn anything from my dad at that inauguration I hope you learned now.”

Surprisingly enough, Bush Hager often compares Kotb to her father. She once revealed she even calls her “dad” sometimes.

“I call her dad because she’s my partner. Because she’s early to everything, always early,” Bush Hager explained, before awkwardly adding, “And she just reminds me of my father.”

Bush Hager even got her father to paint a portrait of Kotb and her daughters for her 60th birthday, which they celebrated on Today Monday (Aug. 12) with a huge special.
