What Happens To Alfie On ‘Emily in Paris’? Lily Collins And Lucien Laviscount Tease Season 4, Part 2 Return

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: Team Gabriel, your time has finally come!

After three seasons of a compelling will-they-won’t-they dynamic, Emily in Paris Season 4, Part 1 showed Emily (Lily Collins) and Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) finally getting together, which was great for them, but terrible for Alfie (Lucien Laviscount).

Fans who watched the eventful Season 3 finale will recall that Alfie called it quits with Emily after he learned she had a history with Gabriel. Camille (Camille Razat) also dumped Gabriel at the altar over his feelings for Emily. So in Season 4, Part 1, the American in Paris and the hot French chef finally found their way back to each other, which left members of Team Alfie (like me) wondering, “What happens to Alfie on Emily in Paris?!”

When chatting with Lucien Laviscount and Lily Collins ahead of Emily in Paris‘ Season 4 premiere, Decider made sure to ask if fans have seen the last of Alfie, if Laviscount will make a triumphant Part 2 return, and what a future on the show could look like for Alfie post-breakup. While he may not have gotten the girl in Season 4, Part 1, Alfie stans can at least take comfort in knowing that the character hasn’t left the show for good.

“I definitely don’t think you’ve seen the last of Alfie. I think that choices are made in the heat of the moment, whatever that might be. But I think for Alfie, it’s the first time he’s really gone to depth with how he actually really feels,” Laviscount told Decider. “It might just be a little bit too late in this instance, but the respect he has for Emily and their friendship, I think, will blossom. And who knows what’s going to happen next, really?”

One person who absolutely knows what’s going to happen next is Lily Collins, who also weighed in on growing “What happens to Alfie?” concerns.

“No, no, no, no. We haven’t seen the last of Alfie,” Collins assured Decider. “Look, Emily also works with him. He’s such a stand-up, wonderful human and such a great guy, and I think Emily really respects and values him. He’s such an amazing addition to our show. And so I think even if the relationship evolves, it doesn’t mean that it’s completely over.”

While there’s a chance that Emily and Alfie could be done for good as a couple, Collins said, “I’m excited for people to see how [the relationship evolution] is handled, and I think it’s done very well and very respectfully.”
