A new WNBA season is about to tip-off, as buzz for the league and its popularity continue to grow.

2024 will likely be a big year for the Women’s National Basketball Association with the debuts of some of the NCAA’s biggest and brightest stars, record-breaker Caitlin Clark among them. Clark will make her debut for the Indiana Fever on the opening day of the season. 36 of the Fever’s 40 regular season games will be broadcast nationally.

Games will be broadcast across a number of platforms and streaming services, with teams like the Fever, last year’s champions the Las Vegas Aces, and 2023 WNBA Commissioner’s Cup winner the New York Liberty, getting particular national attention.

To tune into everything the W has to offer this season, we put together a guide including where to watch games and what services you’ll need to watch them.

What TV Channels Does the WNBA Air On?

WNBA games will air on a number of different services and networks this season but will feature all 12 teams across those nationally broadcast networks.

  • ION: 43 games
  • NBA TV: 40 games
  • Prime Video: 21 games
  • ESPN: 14 games
  • CBS Sports Network: 12 games
  • ABC: 9 game
  • CBS: 8 games
  • ESPN2: 2 games

Best Streaming Services to Watch the WNBA Live:

Prime Video ($14.99/month)

This year, Prime Video will continue its “Thursdays with the W” broadcasts — 18 of the 21 games set to air on the service will be on Thursday nights. A number of these will be doubleheaders as well. Prime Video is also the streaming home of the in-season Commissioner’s Cup tournament Championship game. You can also subscribe to NBA TV as a Prime Video Channels add-on for an additional $7.99/month to stream that network’s 40 games.

Amazon Prime comes with a 30-day free trial, and the NBA TV add-on is also free for the first seven days.

Hulu + Live TV ($76.99/month)

With a subscription to Hulu + Live TV, you’ll be able to watch WNBA games live on ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, CBS, and CBS Sports Network.

The service, which includes subscriptions to Disney+ and ESPN+, comes with a three-day free trial before the $76.99/month payments start.

fuboTV ($79.99/month+)

One of two services to carry every network but Prime, catch WNBA games on ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, CBS, CBS Sports Network, ION, and NBA TV with a fuboTV subscription. Get your first seven days for free.

DIRECTV Stream ($79.99/month+)

DIRECTV Stream is the other service with the most well-rounded selection. Here, you can stream ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, CBS, CBS Sports Network, ION, and NBA TV. However, you’ll need the Ultimate plan or higher to get access to CBS Sports Network and the Choice plan or higher to get NBA TV.

Your first five days are free with any new DIRECTV Stream subscription.

Sling TV ($40.00/month+)

Sling is a bit of a complicated service; since it offers two plans (Orange and Blue), you’ll need to choose based on the channels you want — or just subscribe to the Orange + Blue bundle option.

Sling Blue includes ABC while Sling Orange has ESPN and ESPN2, and you’ll have to get Sling Orange’s Sports Extra add-on to get NBA TV.

While Sling doesn’t offer a free trial, you can save $10 on your first month right now.

Disney+ ($7.99/month+) and ESPN+ ($10.00/month)

ESPN+, the streaming arm of the ESPN empire, will have live coverage of any WNBA game on ESPN or ESPN2.

For the first time this season, Disney+ will also have livestreams of any WNBA games airing on ESPN or ESPN2 — in fact, the season opener will be the first live non-animated sporting event to air on the service ever!

As noted above, Disney+ starts at $7.99/month, but for $14.99/month, you can bundle Disney+ with ads, Hulu with ads, and ESPN+ for even more great streaming at a discounted rate.

Paramount+ ($11.99/month)

Unfortunately, Paramount+ does not have CBS Sports Network games, but any games that air on CBS will stream live on Paramount+ with the Paramount+ with Showtime plan.

That plan costs $11.99/month and comes with access to your live local CBS affiliate, plus it starts with a one-week free trial.

Frndly TV ($6.99/month)

The only WNBA channel that Frndly TV carries is ION, but at $6.99/month, it’s the most cost-effective way to access the network carrying the most games this season.
