‘Doctor Foster’
In a world where we might wish to find a scandalous blonde hair on a husband’s scarf, just to prove we have a life past our own COVID pod, this addictive British import is over-the-top, sordid fun. The plot of this two season thriller on Netflix, originally a BBC mini-series, centers on Dr. Gemma Foster (Suranne Jones), who swings from perfectly happy wife and mother to woman scorned. Using sleuthing skills and women’s intuition, the good doctor uses that single blonde hair to figure out that not only is her cardboard cutout husband carrying out a two year affair with a gorgeous young thing (a pre-Killing Eve Jodie Comer), but that the couple’s friends and colleagues knew all about it. And that’s just the first episode. The rest of the series follows this angry, savvy lady as she carries out gleeful, slow-burn revenge.
