Today marks the beginning of #HS Awareness Week.   HS is a debilitating and often painful chronic inflammatory disease that does not have a cure. Diagnosis can be challenging, with it taking on average seven years to receive a formal diagnosis. Not only can a lengthy HS diagnosis lead to increased depression and anxiety, studies have also shown that diagnosis is key to preventing further irrevocable damage and scarring. This is why we’re championing awareness and advocating for further research, to help patients get the support they need and to slow further disease progression.    At MC2 Therapeutics we are on track to file an IND in mid-2025 for a Phase 2b clinical trial for our first-in-class oral drug candidate MC2-32 in HS. This will be an instrumental moment as we spearhead our efforts to develop safe and effective treatments for patients with high unmet needs. We are pleased to announce that we have received positive feedback from our pre-IND meeting with the FDA and are on track to file an IND in mid-2025 for a Phase 2b clinical trial in Hidradenitis Suppurativa (#HS) with MC2-32, our first-in-class oral drug candidate targeting multiple pathways involved in I&I indications.   Given MC2-32’s unique mode of action and pharmacological profile it is well positioned to address a multitude of other neutrophilic dermatoses as well as other large and rare I&I diseases which is currently being explored pre-clinically by MC2. It’s International Day of Immunology!   Immune-mediated inflammatory diseases (IMIDs), such as Hidradenitis Suppurativa (#HS), are a large group of both common and rare clinically diverse diseases with increasing global rates of incidence over the years. IMIDs are often life-altering and decrease quality of life, while increasing the likelihood of developing comorbidities such as cardiovascular and psychiatric disorders.   Despite the molecular and computational advances over the last 20 years progressing the therapeutic landscape for IMIDs, a large proportion of these diseases have limited or no effective therapeutic options available. This is especially relevant in diseases with a complex, multifaceted pathogenesis and where a broader and safe immunomodulatory approach seems warranted.   MC2 Therapeutics is proud to be at the forefront of developing novel treatment paradigms for this group of diseases.
