In celebration of the Novo Nordisk Foundation's 100th anniversary, we are sharing all of our historical videos. This month focusing on August Krogh. A hundred years ago, August received the Nobel Prize for his groundbreaking work in physiology. His unique ability to quantify and measure scientific phenomena was shaped by his formative trips into the countryside with zoologist William Sorensen. These experiences instilled in him the fundamental principles of science, leading to his legacy of helping millions. August's journey through revolutionary testing methods and collaborations with prominent scientists like Christian Bohr and Johannes Linhart showcased how oxygen moves through the lungs and blood. His innovative experiments during World War I, including studies on capillaries and blood vessels, solidified his place in history. This episode highlights his relentless pursuit of scientific truth and his influence on modern physiology. In celebration of the Novo Nordisk Foundation's 100th anniversary, we are sharing all of our historical videos. This month focusing on August Krogh. For August Krogh, creative processes were deeply integral to science. He was pre-eminent in envisioning biological processes and devising complex experimental set-ups. This ability took him on a scientific voyage of discovery and led to him inventing methods that solved basic problems in people’s everyday lives. The series has produced to celebrate 100th anniversary of the Nobel Prize awarded to Danish physiologist August Krogh. The Nobel Prize resulted in a lecture tour to the United States and Canada. August returned home to Denmark with permission to manufacture insulin in Denmark and the rest of the Nordic countries. This ultimately led to the creation of Novo Nordisk A/S and the Novo Nordisk Foundation. We are focusing on August Krogh through four videos about his life and accomplishments. His unique ability to understand the world around him and recreate it in the laboratory made him a brilliant researcher. August himself thought that loving the truth and loving people were the most important things in life.
