At Uni-Tankers, we firmly believe that the implementation of SIRE 2.0 will significantly enhance safety performance across the entire tanker industry ⚓ We are fully supportive of the upgraded inspection regime, which is set to begin on September 2nd, 2024. Since the commencement of Phase III in the OCIMF-controlled rollout of SIRE 2.0 in January 2024, Uni-Tankers has conducted over 20 SIRE 2.0 trial inspections across our managed fleet. Our goal has been to ensure that as many of our crews and relevant office staff as possible are familiar with this new inspection process. To date, every vessel in our managed fleet has undergone at least one SIRE 2.0 trial inspection, with about half of the fleet having completed two. The insights gained from these trial inspections—both positive and constructive—have not only deepened our understanding of the SIRE 2.0 regime but have also strengthened our overall Safety Management System. Most importantly, these trials have helped disseminate the necessary knowledge and requirements across Uni-Tankers, preparing us for the future. We are thrilled to welcome the latest addition to Uni-Tankers own fleet – the Fionia Swan! As part of our ongoing commitment to renew our fleet with new, energy-efficient tonnage, the Fionia Swan with a CII rating of A, is now proudly sailing under the Danish flag. On Wednesday, August 14th, 2024, our new Uni-Tankers crew arrived at Fayard, marking the beginning of this exciting chapter. At 5 pm, the vessel was officially reflagged from Malta to Denmark, and technical management was handed over to Uni-Tankers. CEO Per Ekmann was present for the flag-changing ceremony, a moment of pride and tradition, followed by a well-deserved celebration onboard with a delicious dinner served by Munkebo Kro.
