World Climate Foundation genopslog dette
This week, at London Climate Action Week #LCAW2024, our Oliver Wyman experts joined industry leaders and policymakers to discuss how to finance the global transition to net zero. Highlights include speaking at the World Climate Foundation's Climate Investment Summit and Bloomberg's Sustainable Finance Forum, hosting events with CDP and World Economic Forum, and launching our report on Accelerating Carbon Dioxide Removal with the City of London Corporation. Our key takeouts from the week: 1. Collaboration between insurers, investors, and the real economy is key to derisking the climate transition and unlocking much-needed investment. 2. A focus on actionable solutions that produce real changes in business operations is key to closing the UK green investment gap, from investing more capex towards green business models to regulating transparent disclosures. 3. Access to capital is still a challenge for many companies in some hard-to-abate sectors. Industry-led groups have a vital role to play in building practitioner-led frameworks that policymakers can endorse. 4. The market for nature finance exists, but investors, industry, and corporations must collaborate for this to be fully utilized. Key issues to resolve are a lack of definition, a mismatch between KPI categories and industry language, and complexity in the system. 5. The UK has the potential to play a leading role in the global carbon removal market, bringing together its financing, trading, insurance, legal, and standard-setting capabilities. But action must be taken to mobilize around the opportunity. Explore our insights: https://owy.mn/3VKDtZS #ClimateAction #Sustainability
