Rolling Forecast is part of the Beyond Budgetting concept which aims at replacing the budget process with a target setting process, a resource allocation process and rolling forecasts. The succesful implementation of this concept into the Maersk Drilling organization required intensive stakeholder management as it needed to be embedded within the whole organization and not only in the Finance function. It required creative thinking to design the concept to be tailormade to Maersk Drilling…
Rolling Forecast is part of the Beyond Budgetting concept which aims at replacing the budget process with a target setting process, a resource allocation process and rolling forecasts. The succesful implementation of this concept into the Maersk Drilling organization required intensive stakeholder management as it needed to be embedded within the whole organization and not only in the Finance function. It required creative thinking to design the concept to be tailormade to Maersk Drilling instead of just being a generic concept and most importantly it required a very structured approach to all of the above in order to ensure that the stakeholders was involved at the right time and understood the concept all through the implementation.
Key achievements:
1. obtained buy in from all stakeholders
2. designed three new unique processes
3. designed a new reporting application to allow for decentral reporting
