“Jeg har drømt om det her hele mit liv. Jeg har set de store stjerner stille sig op på dét podie, og jeg er meget stolt over, at jeg nu selv kan gøre det. Jeg indrømmer blankt, at jeg sad og græd inde i hjelmen på hele omgangen efter målflaget. Jeg er både vildt lykkelig og enormt lettet. At vinde 24-timersløbet på Le Mans har været målet for min karriere. Det er surrealistisk.” "I've dreamed of this my whole life. I've seen the big stars stand on that podium, and I am very proud that I can now do it myself. I admit frankly that I sat and cried inside my helmet for the entire lap after the checkered flag. I am incredibly happy and enormously relieved. Winning the 24-hour race at Le Mans has been the goal of my career. It is surreal." #CarlosCommunication #WeLoveRacing Nicklas Nielsen Ferrari Formula

We can certainly say we’re always protagonists… in every respect: in a positive way, but today also with a negative slant, in a race that concentrated all the emotions in the last two laps. A tenacious and combative Jorge made a tough and difficult challenge his own: a contest with many unknowns, handled and concluded with endurance, concentration and stubbornness, without ever giving up. A well-deserved reward for his perseverance shown in the GP and indeed throughout the weekend. Ducati also gained second place on the podium with Enea: grit and determination for a very worthwhile result. Today it was most important for him to be up there at the front, he needed it, even more so being on a track that he felt his own. We are at the beginning of the season and, without any doubt, this second place counts as a win. Very regrettable was the incident involving Pecco and Marc, which denied both the chance of scoring important points for the championship standings, in a complex race in which they were unable to vie for victory. In all honesty, any other comments would be utterly superfluous. This was a difficult weekend for Pecco, one in which we could not find the right balance, unlike the way we were able to do on other occasions, although in the sprint race everything seemed to be going well until the mistake that cost him the victory. An uncertain feeling, a constant struggle, all this finally confirmed in the worst possible way. We will have to understand why and immediately find the solution, without alarmism: this is what counts in the end. In any case... never let our guard down! This seems to be the leitmotif of the season’s beginning: we have already seen and said it all, but it always serves to remind ourselves of how much everyone has improved, how numerous and fearsome our opponents are, even the younger ones, with their enthusiasm, talent and speed, enterprising and totally lacking any reverential fear. It will be a long and exciting Championship, all to be experienced together with our fans, race after cliffhanging race. Come on, Ducati! #Ducati #DucatiLenovoTeam #ForzaDucati #MotoGP

https://lnkd.in/e4Pdm6bG Congratulations to Charles Leclerc and Ferrari for winning the F1 in Monaco. The Championship becomes more interesting, unfortunately the races not. The more equal the race cars the less action we can aspect on the track. The qualification become, in special on street circuits, more important in the whole weekend since overtaking is nearly impossible. Why not make some changes to make it like with DRS more interesting: Why not prohibit a tire change within the first 10 laps of a race? Or, introduce Tracksplit to circuits so overtaking give drivers a little bit more hope during a race. Although it still would be hard in Monaco, at least there is a much bigger opportunity to make an attempt. Now it is boring to watch and for drivers to race.
Time for a logical decision: Time to say goodbye to the Monaco Grand Prix!

Saturday, July 6, 2002, Juan Pablo Montoya takes his fourth consecutive pole position - the eighth of his career - for the 2002 British Grand Prix. A surprise feat, that of the Colombian driver, as it seemed that the fight for the best time was a matter between Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello. Thus, two South American drivers will be on the front row for the race. 🏎 On Sunday, after a wet and dry race, Michael Schumacher wins the British Grand Prix and takes his seventh victory of the season, while Rubens Barrichello finishes in second place - after starting in last place due to an electronic problem -, followed by Juan Pablo Montoya in third. On the wet, the Bridgestone intermediate tyres fitted to the two F2002s made the difference. 💡 Ferrari has got everything to win the title again: the drivers, the car and the team. In fact, the team is already confirmed until 2004. And at the technical summit there will still be Ross Brawn, who has a past full of achievements and has won five consecutive titles with Ferrari. He is called a "track magician" as he studies and decides quickly all possible race strategies. During the races, he continuoulsy talks with the drivers, especially with Michael. Brawn, talking about Schumacher, says: "Michael is fantastic because he always arrives at the finish line. [...] It's not enough to go fast, you also have to finish races. He brings the car home even when it is in pieces". If you want to know more about it, you can read the full article at the link below 👇 #F1 #Translation #Ferrari

Today marks the day, 30 years ago, that Ayrton Senna was tragically killed. Three decades after his death at Imola, the great Brazilian driver remains a revered but controversial figure in motorsport. From this list, here’s my fave race featuring him … 4. The Ayrton Senna legend is born: Monaco Grand Prix 1984 … “It will be really a tragic result for Senna. However, while he’s not about to be world champion this year, he will undoubtedly be world champion in the future if his career continues.” Thus spoke BBC commentator and 1976 world champion James Hunt, having witnessed one of the great wet weather performances of all time. Senna, behind the wheel of a decidedly mid-to-back-of-the-field Toleman, had made his way to second place by Lap 19 of the 1984 Monaco Grand Prix, as drivers of the calibre of Niki Lauda and Nigel Mansell were spinning off all around him. UNDERDOG TALES: When Senna took the F1 paddock by storm with Toleman and made Monaco’s streets his own Between Lap 27 and Lap 31 – the last lap before race official Jacky Ickx (ironically a notorious regenmeister himself) controversially threw the red flag to stop proceedings – Senna had gained on race leader Alain Prost by an average of 3.7 seconds a lap, passing him for the lead across what became the finish line on Lap 32 but falling back to second in the final countback. Was he robbed? It’s a question that can still excite F1 fans down the pub today. Whatever your opinion, though, there was no doubt that Senna’s drive that day had been one of the most special in F1 history. The 2002 Italian Grand Prix sees the seventh 1-2 of the season for Ferrari. After another pole position of Juan Pablo Montoya on Saturday, Rubens Barrichello wins the race on Sunday, followed by teammate Michael Schumacher. 💡 For this race, Scuderia Ferrari calculated everything to the millimetre. They put the drivers on two different strategies and prepared a particular setup, with less aerodynamic load to be able to overtake their rivals. In short, it was a race won with strategy. ❗ However, negative rumours are not lacking. There is talk of team orders as it is said that Michael Schumacher raised his foot a little from the accelerator when Rubens Barrichello made the second stop for refuelling. All this to let Rubens Barrichello win and conquer second place in the World Championship. Jean Todt explains that this was surely their main goal. 🔍 Not only: Ferrari's engine is examined by the FIA technicians in Maranello after the race weekend. Nevertheless, they check it piece by piece without finding anything to complain about and finally it is judged regular. If you want to know more about it, you can read the full article at the link below 👇 #F1 #Translation #Ferrari
