The 2024 NBA Draft is here, with the event spanning two days for the first time since the draft was shortened to two rounds. The Atlanta Hawks hold the No. 1 pick at the moment and while they could move the selection for a more immediate upgrade, they’re likely to hold onto it and take a prospect at the top of the draft. Here’s a look at the latest odds to be the top pick in the 2024 NBA Draft according to DraftKings Sportsbook.

NBA Draft 2024 odds for No. 1 overall pick

Many players were in the running to be the top pick in a draft that doesn’t have a clear-cut best prospect, but it appears France’s Zaccharie Risacher has become a heavy favorite. Risacher has been streaky as a shooter but possesses great size and versatility. He’s not a perfect with the Hawks but does have some upside Atlanta desperately needs. Alex Sarr and Donovan Clingan are other options for the Hawks, though they’d likely have to make a separate trade if they add the latter due to their depth in the frontcourt. Sarr was considered a favorite at one point to be the top pick thanks to his defensive skills but he doesn’t have the upside of Risacher offensively.

Of the longshots, Matas Buzelis probably has the best chance to go No. 1 instead of guards like Reed Sheppard, Stephon Castle and Rob Dillingham. Buzelis fits Atlanta’s roster as a frontcourt player, though he hasn’t displayed the shooting chops of Risacher lately. The Hawks likely go with the France forward, though there’s more of a chance for surprise in this particular class than the odds might suggest.
