MLB: New York Yankees at New York Mets Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

The Subway Series wraps up on Wednesday with the New York Yankees on the road to face a New York Mets team that has been quite limited at Citi Field this season.

New York Yankees (-155, 9) vs. New York Mets

The Mets entered the series leading the league in road scoring this season with over 5.6 runs per game with a league-best .276 road batting average while their 3.8 run per game at home ranks last in the National League and .219 home batting average is also last in the National League.

Yankees starting pitcher Luis Gil will look to continue the Mets woes at Citi Field as he looks to bounce back from his worst start of the season in his last time out, allowing seven runs in 1 1/3 innings against the Baltimore Orioles.

That was just the second time in his 15 starts this season in which Gil allowed more than three runs, posting a 2.77 ERA with 10.7 strikeouts and 0.7 home runs allowed per nine innings with his ERA even better on the road at 2.48.

The Mets counter with Sean Manaea on the mound, who enters with a fielding independent of 3.73, but an ERA higher than that at 4.16.

Manaea and Gil are both having issues giving out walks with 4.6 walks per nine innings for Gil and 3.7 walks per nine innings for Manaea, but Manaea is also allowing only 0.9 home runs per nine innings while getting 9.2 strikeouts per nine innings.

Both teams have been pretty solid in the bullpen this season with the Mets 11th in the league with a 3.58 ERA even with closer Edwin Diaz being in and out of the bullpen due to injury and suspension this season while the Yankees are sixth with a 3.42 ERA.

The Yankees offense entered the series third among MLB teams in road scoring with just under 5.3 runs per game and 1.5 home runs per game on the road, but have not hit left-handed pitching the same as right-handers.

The Yankees have a .256 batting average against right-handed pitchers with a home run in nearly 4.7% of their at-bats while hitting just .235 with a home run in 3.3% of their at-bats against left-handed pitchers

With Manaea being a lefty and the Mets struggling to score at home, a low-scoring game is on tap in New York on Wednesday.
