2K Sports announced on Thursday that late Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer Kobe Bryant will be the cover athlete for NBA 2K24. The ‘Kobe Bryant’ edition of the game will feature a younger Bryant on the cover wearing his No. 8 jersey while the ‘Black Mamba’ edition of the game will feature an older Bryant wearing his No. 24 jersey.
The annual video game is set to release this September prior to the start of the 2023-24 NBA season.

This is the fourth time Bryant has appeared on a cover for 2K. Coming off a victory in the 2009 NBA Finals, he was the cover man for NBA 2K10 later that fall. Seven years later following his retirement in 2016, he appeared on the cover of the ‘Legend Edition’ of 2K17. And following his untimely death in January of 2020, 2K honored him with two separate ‘Mamba Forever Edition’ covers.
While no details have been released, one would imagine this game will feature a mode following Bryant’s career, similar to what they’ve done with Michael Jordan in the past.
