Full card for UFC 302: Islam Makhachev vs. Dustin Poirier

Reigning UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev defends his belt against Dustin Poirier this Saturday, June 1. The title fight will serve as the main event of UFC 302, with main card coverage beginning at 10 p.m. ET on ESPN+PPV. It all gets going live from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

The early preliminary card starts at 6:30 p.m. ET on UFC Fight Pass. The preliminary card is next up at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN2/ESPN+. The main card gets started at 10 p.m. ET on ESPN+ PPV.

Makhachev (25-1) seeks a third straight title defense after back-to-back wins over former featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski. In October 2022 he defeated Charles Oliveira at UFC 280 to capture the then vacant title. With a win this weekend, he’ll extend his fight win streak to 14.

Poirier (30-8) gets another opportunity at the UFC lightweight belt, losing to Khabib Nurmagomedov and Charles Oliveira in previous title fights. The former interim titleholder collected an upset win over Benoit St-Denis at UFC 299 and is currently ranked 4th in the division rankings.

The co-main event features a middleweight showdown between Sean Strickland and Paulo Costa. Both strikers are coming off defeat. Strickland returns to the octagon after a middleweight championship loss to Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 297. Costa fell in a highly contested matchup opposite of Robert Whittaker at UFC 298.

Strickland is the betting favorite at DraftKings Sportsbook, with -258 odds to win. Costa enters a +210 underdog. In the main event, Makhachev is an overwhelming -650 betting favorite to win. Poirier enters a +490 underdog, with the favored method of victory being Makhachev by submission (-120).
