Hello

Hello, I’m Douglas McCarthy. I specialise in helping museums, libraries, and archives enhance their digital presence and engage effectively with online audiences. My work focuses on the intersection of copyright, licensing, and digital strategy, with a particular interest in how open access policies influence audience engagement and outreach in the cultural sector.

Through my writing, presentations, and projects, I explore the ways in which institutions can navigate the complexities of copyright and licensing to maximise their impact in the digital space. I am passionate about supporting cultural heritage organisations in making their collections more accessible and relevant to diverse audiences.

If you’re interested in discussing how to enhance your institution’s digital strategy or want to explore collaborative opportunities, feel free to get in touch.
