Thomson Reuters to Cut Jobs in Eagan

Employees learned of the cuts on Thursday.

Job cuts at Thomson Reuters will affect some jobs in Eagan employees learned on Thursday.

Company spokesman John Shaughnessy told the Pioneer Press that affected employees are being notified, but he did not say how many Eagan jobs would be cut.

Thomson Reuters announced in October that the company would cut 3,000 jobs, about 5 percent of its workforce. At its Eagan location there are about 6,000 employees, according to the Pioneer Press.

In the October announcement, Thomson Reuters said many of the jobs cut would be in the financial and risk department division, Twin Cities Business reported.
