Former Florida Everblades' goaltender Devin Cooley became the 751st former ECHL player to reach the National Hockey League when he debuted with the San Jose Sharks on Sunday at Chicago.
Cooley is the 11th former ECHL player to make his NHL debut during the 2023-24 season. He made his pro debut with the Everblades during the 2020-21 season, posting a 12-7-2 record in 22 appearances with one shutout, a 2.95 goals-against average and a save percentage of .911. He went 2-1-0 with a 1.36 goals-against average and save percentage of .954 in three outings with Florida in 2021-22.
A native of Los Gatos, California, Cooley has seen action in 66 career American Hockey League games with Rochester, Milwaukee and Chicago compiling a career record of 32-24-6 with a 3.16 goals-against average and a save percentage of .900.
