On the left is the iPhone XR and on the right is Samsung Galaxy Note 9.
Apple, at its mega event, brought three new devices to the world of iPhones; the XS, the XS Max and the budget-friendly XR. All the phones come in three variants and are priced at Rs 99,900, Rs 1,09,900, and Rs 76,900 respectively.

What Apple is calling the 'cheapest iPhone' will set you back for a cool Rs 91,900 for the 256GB variant, and Rs 81,900 for the 128GB. If these prices are already scaring you, wait for what XS and XS Max can do.

The 256GB variant of the iPhone XS is priced at Rs 1,14,900, while the 512GB will be at Rs 1,34,900. The iPhone XS Max though will cost you Rs 1,24,900 for the 256GB variants, and Rs 1,44,900 for the 512GB.

The phone has a design similar to that of the high-end iPhone XS, and even comes with identical features at a lower price. What really works for the phone is the 6.1-inch LCD screens with a notch at the top.

Specs-wise, the XR is similar to XS but one notable omission is the 3D Touch. The smartphone is available in 6 funky and vibrant colours; blue, yellow, red, black, white, and coral.

Inside the XR is Apple’s new A12 Bionic processor, a revolutionary chip which will boost speed by 15% reduce power use by 40%. It also comes equipped with IP67 water resistance, battery life that lasts for an hour and a half longer than the iPhone 8 Plus. A single 12-megapixel camera that is capable of portrait-style blurring effects is also addition. The XR also supports dual-SIM features through nano SIM and eSIM capabilities.

The Galaxy Note 9's S Pen is an added extra which is of course missing in Apple's iPhones. You have the option of using the Galaxy Note 9's S Pen stylus that some people swear by for taking notes. Samsung also gave the S Pen the ability to control the Galaxy Note 9's camera remotely, which isn't something you can do with the iPhone X out-of-the-box without buying extra accessories.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Midnight Black (128 GB) is for Rs 67,900. With a massive 6.4-inch screen, it is probably the best in the smartphone business. Even though both phones share a similar type of OLED display, the Galaxy Note 9's display is stunning. The Galaxy Note 9 has a whopping 4,000mAh battery while the iPhone X stands back with 2,716mAh battery.

With Samsung's Galaxy Note 9, you're getting more features than you get with the iPhone X. For the iPhone, you're seemingly paying for iOS and the Apple ecosystem that integrates several Apple devices, which no other smartphone company has managed to match.

While iOS offers sophistication in the realm of technology, Android offers quality and quantity for features.
