Mohanlal returns to Tollywood after 21 years

Malayalam Superstar Mohanlal is all set to make a comeback to Telugu cinema after a hiatus of 21 years. The National Award winning actor's only appearance in a Telugu film was a cameo in the 1994 drama, Gandeevam, in which he played a boatman. He is set to play a cop in debutant filmmaker Suresh Vamsi's next film.

“I had earlier been associated with him in a couple of Malayalam films and always wished to work with him.So when I decided to make this film, I felt he was the perfect choice and could visualise no one other than him for the role,“ shares Suresh, adding, “I waited long for his approval and finally it is happening.“ The film is touted to be a complete entertainer set in a rural backdrop.

“It will have Rayalaseema as its background. It is a love story laced with family emotions and will also have a dose of comedy . The film will go on floors soon,“ Suresh added.

Starring Kannada actor Kavita Radheshyam and newcomer Suraj, the film will begin shortly .
